As of today, Wissam will be hosting “Ridiculousness Arabia – Season 2” on Comedy Central Arabia. He will be the first Lebanese comedian to host a show on this channel.

Comedy Central was the birth place of great stars and shows, i.e., The Colbert Report with Stephen Colbert, The Daily Show with John Stewart, Key & Peele, Chapelle’s Show with David Chappelle, The Sarah Silverman Program, South Park and more.

Wissam started writing and filming his comedy at an early age; he was creating in-your-face, funny, and satirical work on his youtube channel and sharing them on social media.

Wissam’s comedy makes fun of social situations, issues, and agency ads, in a funny and professional way. He created shows like “Lebanese Ads: F@#k Logic,” “Doppelganger,” “3mela B Baytak”, “Walla?” and my personal favorite “Lebanese Father and Son.”

Samar Maalouf is the morning talk show host of “Sabah El Mada” on “Sawt El Mada” (92.5, 92.7 & 92.9 FM). Her segment is a combination of entertaining, informative and most importantly social content.

Every now and then, Samar invites me as a guest on her show whenever she is discussing topics related to the internet and social media.

To be honest, I was surprised to see the immense reach she has and the amount of engagement she gets from her audience. People trust that she will get their voices heard, and her team does a fantastic job in following up on people issues with the relevant parties.

I met Samar over a digital gathering a while back, and we got into a conversation about the creation process of Arabic and Lebanese content. I was happy to see someone pushing to create original and creative localized content versus taking the easy way of adapting foreign material. She was talking out of experience as she previously worked as an editor in chief of several regional online publications.

After graduating from the Lebanese University with a degree in Radio & TV, she hosted her own morning show at radio “Noujoum Loubnan”. She later moved to “Sawt El Mousika” where she produced and presented different talk shows. In addition to that Samar acted in several Lebanese TV series and plays such as Familia, Hawa2 Fil Tarikh, Mitl El Kizeb, as well as being a voice over talent.

In parallel to all the above, Samar is currently the Vice President of “Opera Lebanon” a first of its kind Opera in Arabic. When she told me about the project I thought it was a crazy stunt to have Opera performances in Arabic, but it is truly one of a kind performance, and everyone should watch it.

Whether I am working with students in arts, design, advertising, marketing, PR, media, political science, or computer science. I work with one principle in mind: Everyone is Creative.

Mira El Khalil is not a painter, illustrator, photographer, musician or singer. She is all of them together; she is a holistic young artist. The most interesting part for me is that she doesn’t practice art professionally nor does she work in an art studio. It’s a personal hobby, it’s her way of expressing her feelings of the world around her.

Mira recently graduated from AUB with a B.A. in Media Studies and Communication. She did many internships in the field and started working as a media analyst, mainly dealing with numbers all day long and ironically she likes it

You’re always impressed when you see someone with artistic skills like playing a musical instrument, drawing, painting or even singing.

I learned about Mira El Khalil’s talent through a class assignment in AUB as she was a student of mine, I was surprised when I heard her voice in a music performance, then I learned that not only she was singing, but also playing the guitar, wrote the lyrics and composed the music. Mira learned to play the violin as a kid and managed to teach herself guitar and piano along the way.

I’ve been following up with Mira’s work on social media. I was always happy to see her post a new song on her Soundcloud or Youtube channels, be it a cover song or an original piece. she goes by the artistic name Starley.

Mira is always posting doodles, drawings, and paintings. When you look at them, you will realize that she is good using any of art tools: pencil, ink, aquarelle, acrylics and oil painting.

I hope that real life doesn’t stop Mira from doing what she does best, that is being an artist. To be artistically gifted is a blessing, and art is something that should never be kept for oneself, but rather shared with the whole world.

Jeff Aoun is a 25-year-old Stylist, Art-Director, and Designer. He recently completed his Master’s degree in Advertising and Art-Direction from ALBA University with an emphasis on Fashion.

After graduating, Jeff attended several courses and workshops in Europe to further improve his artistic skills and learn more about fashion image and styling. Such as the IFAC International Festival of Art and Construction in Spain and Istituto Marangoni in Paris.

For a fresh graduate, Jeff has an impressive portfolio, almost equivalent to professionals who have been working in the industry for quite some time. He has an eye for details, good art direction skills, and excellent color treatments.
